Juvenile Correctional Officer

Earn up to $50,373

Our Juvenile Correctional Officers work within our facilities to provide a safe, secure environment and help facilitate access to programming, education, recreation and other services for youth offenders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • Must attend, pass, and maintain all required DJJ training courses

Special Requirements

Must be an officer in compliance and certified with Continuing Law Enforcement Education (CLEE) or must obtain this certification within the required timeframe established by the hiring agency. Some positions require completing the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within the first six months after placement. Incumbents may be required to fulfill all South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Board requirements for law enforcement certification. Some positions require a commercial driver's license.

Facilities

We operate a total of five facilities, including three regional evaluation centers for court-ordered assessments, a Juvenile Detention Center for pre-trial custody, and the Broad River Road Complex, our long-term commitment facility offering comprehensive programs, education, and vocational opportunities for youth.
