How to Apply

We have a simple 3 step process to apply for a position with the Department of State Hospitals as a Police Officer.
Step 1: Get a CalCareers Account

Now that you have created a CalCareers account, It's time to register for the exam. Registration only takes a few minutes. The Exam is 100% online.

Step 3: Apply
Once you have registered for the exam we will guide you through the rest of the process via email. Make sure that you check your junk mail. Future notifications will come from recruit@dsh.ca.gov. After you pass, we will send you an email to choose your location.

‍The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is a state cabinet agency committed to serving South Carolina's youthful offenders. DJJ is responsible for providing custodial care and rehabilitation for the state’s children who are incarcerated, on probation or parole, or in community placement for a criminal or status offense.The agency operates its own accredited school district, helps youth pursue career and opportunities, shows youth how to make a positive impact on their local , and provides rehabilitative and recreational services tailored to the individual needs of each young person under agency supervision. DJJ serves youth at five secure, 43 county offices and ten camps across South Carolina.
